Chop Blend Paul Brodel 9780956393579 Books
This is very expensive for a 67 page book containing 30 recipes which are separated into 8 starters, 14 mains and 8 desserts. I initially saw this book on a TV shopping channel when it was described as written for the "Bamix" blender/mixer and although it does not say so in the book in the equipment section it states "A stick blender with a flat disk interchange or a balloon whisk attachment " I don't know about the balloon whisk but I think the "Bamix" is the only one with the flat disk.Although the book is lavishly illustrated the problem I found was that a lot of the recipes were very similar and that he has tried to cover all options for example "using the stick blender / blender and or food mixer with balloon whisk attachment" when he had already said blend. There are in fact only 5 recipes using just the blender all the rest are chop something and in one case you have to use a "multi-mill or wet and dry mill" to mill caster sugar to resemble icing sugar, why?
In summary Paul Brodel has tried to produce a book that covers too much area and does not succeed.
